She was introduced to Navanatha (Nandagopal), who is the descendant of Sita from the Pandava clan. Venu wants to make Sailaja's grandfather's tomb proud and when he is informed about Sailaja's connection with Navanatha, he is shocked and refuses to marry her. Venu and Sailaja meet when she is singing at a temple. Sailaja's performance is well received and when Venu goes to her grandfather's tomb, he sees that her grandfather was a famous singer. He approaches Sailaja's grandfather's son (Raghu Babu) and requests him to give Sailaja a chance to sing, so that her grandfather's work can get recognition. Sailaja's grandfather's son agrees to Venu's request, but he is reluctant to accept Venu as his daughter-in-law. Venu meets with the family and it is then that Sailaja's grandfather's son understands Venu's love for his daughter and accepts him. Venu asks Sailaja to leave her job and come to Hyderabad, so that she can serve him. Sailaja agrees. At her grandfather's house, Sailaja meets Venu's mother and sister.
